Ruby Ellen Sherrad, age 84, passed away December 14, 2014.
Ruby was born March 7, 1930 in Oklahoma the daughter of John Emmitt McClendon and Mary Jane Marlow. Ruby attended Maud Oklahoma High School. Following graduation, she spent over 30 years traveling all over the country in places such as Germany and Spain with the military. Afterwards, she moved to Albert Lea, MN and later to Ames, Iowa to live with her sister, Hattie Sue.
Ruby was known for being an excellent seamstress. She also loved spending time outdoors. She was very loving and shared that full heart of love to her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her sweetness and humor.
Riverside has been her home for the last 10 years and she was very appreciative of the staff and care she received.
Ruby is survived by her brothers: C.T., Don, and Lee and wife Donna McClendon; sisters: Virda Huffind, Darlene and husband Floyd Weaver, and Hattie Sue Ball; Aunt Ledy Mae Boles of Texas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wesley and siblings: Ralph and Eddie Joe McClendon, and Ruth McColm.
