Todd was born in Lake City, Iowa, on March 21, 1960, the son of Wilbur and Joan Ohlsen. He graduated from Rockwell City High school in 1978. Straight out of High school Todd secretly went and took the postmasters test and passed, which made him the youngest to pass the postmasters test in Iowa for about 3 years. Todd had put so much hard work and dedication time into his post master career in Ogden where he was able to retire at the age of 52.

Somehow while we were gone this winter we missed that Todd had passed away. What a great kid he was growing up. We went to the same church and when our son moved to Calif. Todd always asked about him and truely cared. We enjoyed visiting with him when he was home. RIP Todd...you were one of the good ones!

Bye Todd.... I had fun teasing you at the Ogden Post Office.... I had a signal meter that would make a high pitched tone in my pocket when I would go in the PO and turn it up when Todd came to the counter.... I told him it was a squirrel detector and we laugh about it every time I came in...

So many tributes to Todd and they all say he was friendly, kind and always had a smile for all. What a wonderful way for friends to remember him!! I remember his laugh too. We didn't get to see each other often, but we would talk on the phone and I loved to make him laugh!! Todd will be truly missed by his family and his friends, but, we know he is in a better place. With Todd's smile and laughter, heaven is just a bit happier!!

I am so sorry to hear of Todds passing. I grew up in Rockwell city until we moved away when I was 14. Todd was my best friend from kindergarten until 7th grade. We lost contact when I moved but reconnected the summer after we graduated high school. I have so many fond memories of growing up together, riding our bikes, going to Rexall drugs soda fountain, going to Mickeys for the fries, etc etc. He was a great friend. my deepest sympathy to his family and friends, he was definitely taken too soon.

We were enriched in our community by knowing Todd as our cheerful, helpful postmaster. May your wonderful memories, God's love, and knowing that others care help you find peace.

I was sorry to hear of Todd's passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him. I would get updates on his career from his mom. He will be missed by so many people.

My husband and I our son moved to Ogden in the mid 1990s. Todd was one of the first people we met. He was always so happy and friendly. He was never too busy to smile or say hello. He answered every question I ever had. He shared beautiful stories about his family and special moments with them at his hometown. When we got our dog, Buddy, Todd let us bring him in on hot summer days when he was working to greet him. He was such a sweet and precious man. Greg and I are so sad to hear that has passed away. We know he is in Heaven. We will give him a big hug when we see him again one day.

I worked as a rural carrier in Ogden . He was my Post Master. I really liked Todd as a boss and as a friend. He treated you with respect and also would listen to you if there was a problem. He will be missed by all. He was at a stage in his life that he could enjoy. But apparently there was someone who needed him more. He is at peace and all his worries are gone. God bless you Todd. Will meet again. Always Cherrilie Vonnahme.

I also got to know Todd from day one as Post Master at the Ogden Post Office. It was part of my job with the Ogden Schools to pick up the schools mail and deliver the schools outgoing mail to the post office daily. He always had a smile on his face and quite often something funny to say about how much mail - (a lot) - the school received daily. I'd usually say something to him about our job security or something to that nature and he'd just laugh. What a great guy and friend! Doug McComb

Todd was one of the nicest people I've ever known. Our birthdays were 2 days apart and even after he retired he remembered me with birthday cards. He was alot of fun, too. Always smiling and happy.

Kathy Carter on Feb 23, 2018

Todd was one of a group of postmasters who traveled to and attended numerous conventions of the postmaster organization. We attended business sessions and training sessions during the days and explored and socialized in the evenings. What great fun, and what cherished memories. He is, and will be, sorely missed. RIP, my friend.

I believe this picture was taken at Karen Peterson's retirement party when she retired from the Ogden Post Office in the early 1990's. My mom, Gwen Carpenter worked with Todd before her retirement in 1989.

Jackie Miller on Feb 23, 2018

Todd was a classmate of mine. We had such a good time. He was so much fun and was friends with so many. He signed my autograph book over 40 years ago and I still have it. It means even more to me now. I am sure you will live your life in heaven with as much fun as you did in high school.
