Vicki Jill Cox, age 53, died Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at Rolling Green Village, Nevada, Iowa following a stroke. Visitation with family will be on Saturday, March 17th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with a celebration of life at 3:00 p.m. at Grandon Funeral Home, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa.
Vicki was born September 15, 1964 in Atlantic, Iowa to Mary and Edward Cox. Vicki was a courageous fighter and defied the odds despite being born four months early. She spent her first three month of life at Jenny Edmonson Hospital, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Throughout her life she far exceeded anyone's expectations for what she could learn and accomplish. She graduated in 1983 from Iowa Braille and sight Saving School, Vinton, Iowa.
Vicki enjoyed going on walks, swinging, being in a rocking chair, swimming, participating in the special Olympics and loving on her family.
She is survived sisters, Rhonda Riley (Geoff Green), Nevada, Iowa, Tari Jo Lee, Des Moines, IA, Danielle (Randy) Brown, Iowa Falls, IA, Claudia "CJ" Kaiser, Ames, IA, her brothers, Greg (Debbie) Cox, Huxley, IA, and Way6de (Betty) Cox, Los Fresnos, TX.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Edward Cox (3-7-1987) mother, Mary Cox (2- 20-2018) and her brother Edward E. Cox Jr. (1-8-2015).
The family is asking the family and friends to wear cyclone colors.
