Obituary
Wayne E. Harrell age 91, of Ames died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at Mary Greeley Medical Center.
A private family service is being planned at a later date.
Wayne was born August 30, 1920 in Fairfield, Iowa the son of Willard and Lena Harrell. He graduated from Fairfield High School and Parsons College and later received his Banking Degree from the University of Wisconsin. He served in the Army in WW II where he was a Lieutenant.
Wayne married Ollie Price on March 12, 1944. He was employed at Boone State Bank during the 1950's. He moved to Ames in 1961 working at College Savings Bank, which later became University Bank and Trust Company, as Executive Vice President and eventually President. After retiring in 1978, Wayne and Ollie moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas until returning to Ames in 2002. Wayne was one of Iowa's leading amateur golfers from his teens through his forties and particularly enjoyed playing golf with Ollie, his partner in golf and life.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ollie Harrell, of Ames, sons, Mike (Jane) Harrell of Ames and Steve (Gretchen) Harrell of Madison, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Kate (Brian) McKnight of Madison, Mark Harrell of Seattle and Scott Harrell of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mike & Steve, I have so many good memories growing up around your family. What a great couple Wayne and Ollie are and will always be. So many Christmas Eves and special times spent at Grandma and Grandpa Price's.
