James "Jim" Schmidt, age 67 of Ames, died May 27, at Israel Family Hospice House, in Ames. A gathering of friends and family will be held 4-6:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary, Thursday, May 31, at St. Read Obituary

I experienced his tremendous love for his family, and his thanksgiving and love to God for the gift of life and beautiful family. Maureen,I am sorry for your loss. I am one of the Hoese's mentioned in the obituary.Yes the whole neighborhood met at or near our house, year around in the 50's and early 60's. Many fond memories. We will meet again.
