Herbert C. "Herb" Stock died Wed. Oct. 20, 2010 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A gathering of friends and family will be Wednesday, Oct 27, 2010 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln way in Ames.
Herb was born April 17, 1931 in Fremont, NE the son of Louie and Georgiana Stock. He graduated from High School and College. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #520 in Ames and the American Legion Post #37 of Ames.
He is survived by his companion and her family, Judi Richardson of Ames and her children Erica Cory of Huxley, Amy Richardson of Ames and Andrew (Nicole) Richardson of Huxley and three grandchildren, 4 children and a sister in Nebraska,

I remember Herb speaking so wonderfully of children and saw him often serving as a school guard for children after his retirement from ISU. I worked with him there and remember his humor. He also used to bring fresh game and fish to my older Scottish friend, Peggy Webber. She so appreciated his contributions to her kitchen. Condolances to his family and friends.
Sending my deepest condolences to Judi and her family. I haven't seen Herb & Judi in years, but sure have great memories of them in Ames! What fun you had with my parents, golfing, dancing & living it up at the Moose. Please know my thoughts are with you during this sad time.
