My heart is saddened to hear of this loss. Hugs and prayers to all of the Vallery family, especially Denise.

Rita taught me a lot about what it means to be the wife of a pastor and to value being born in an era where women are free to pursue their true vocations. Her determination, will to work, and "It's the right thing to do" attitude meant a lot to me.

I am so sorry to hear about the death of Rita. She was an inspiration to me over the years! Such a kind and gracious let's get this done person! She will be missed. May God bless you Larry and all your family. De Streeter

Dear Larry and family, Rita has a special place in my heart not only because we shared the same first name and served together on Conference United Methodist Women whole she was President, but also because she was such a wonderful, giving mentor and friend to me and to so many others. Larry and Rita were some of our first pastor friends when we came back to Iowa from seminary. Rita was a wonderful mentor and guide to me as a new pastors spouse. She also set an excellent example of being Christ to others. She opened my eyes and heart even more to others. Her love and passion for missions and United Methodist Women inspired many.
