Mildred Odessa Warner was born in Story County, Iowa on June 24, 1929, the daughter of Roy and Mayme (Utley) Warner. She attended school in Ames and married William Valline on April 12, 1947 in Boone, Iowa. The couple raised three sons, John, Gary and Darrell.
Millie was a caregiver and spent a lot of her time taking care of her boys as well as the neighborhood children. She also loved fishing with Bill, helping him attend to their garden, enjoyed watching and feeding the hummingbirds and had volunteered at Mary Greeley for many years in the gift shop. After Bill's retirement, he and Millie were snowbirds and retreated to Alamo, TX for winters. A few years ago, they were proud to donate a new group home for Friendship Ark. Inc. and it was named the Valline house.
Millie will be remembered by her son, John (Di) Valline of Nevada, and a sister-in-law, Amy Herman of Nevada, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Roy and Mayme; brother, Cleo Warner and sons, Gary Valline and Darrell Valline.

I delivered mail to Millie and Bill once a week for 18 yrs when they lived in Ross Road, super friendly and you didn’t want to be in a hurry if they were outside, always quite a welcome chat. When I think of them I will smile. My thoughts are with the entire family during this sad time
So sorry to hear of Millie's passing. She was a sweet lady.
Sincere sympathy John & family
One of the sweetest and most thoughtful ladies I ever knew. I thoroughly enjoyed all our little visits and going out to lunch. I am really going to miss her.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Bill and Millie were wonderful neighbors. They always had time to stop and chat when out for their walks. We always admired Millie out there with her walker. She always had a smile. She enjoyed stopping to play with our puppy.
