Charles Duane Ellis, 60, of Nevada passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. A funeral will be held on Sunday, July 11 at 2 pm with visitation one hour prior at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 610 15th St. Ames, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family.

He loved his family, especially kidding with his nieces and fishing with his nephews. Charles spent his time listening and singing to many genres of music. Many Saturday nights were spent at Boone Speedway following in the footsteps of his father. Dirt track racing was in his blood and he carried the family number on the car, #43. Charles' most recent hobby was feeding and photographing hummingbirds.
Left to cherish Charles' memory is his wife, Kris of 33 years; father, Charley (Vickie); brothers, Wendell (Tammy), Chris (Julie) and Danny; Charley's friend, Vickie; Kris' parents, Al and Tanny Latuska; brother-in-law, Ken Latuska (Sandy); Becky Jackson, Cheryl Ellis and Tara Wallace; the newest addition, "Cooper", a 1.5-year-old beagle rescue; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn; brothers, Jeff and Nyno; and just recently, "Peanut" their 15-year-old jack russell terrier.

Sorry for your loss Kris and family. Grief never ends...but it changes. It's a passage, not at place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It's is the price of LOVE. Fred and Kay Lande and Family.
