Beverly J Methum was born in Viola, Wisconsin February 24, 1933. She was raised on a dairy farm during the great depression. During World War II, she remembered her dad plowing with horses due to the rationing on gas. They had chickens, and tobacco fields also. Even though life on the farm was a lot of hard work, she felt they were lucky during the depression because they always had enough to eat. They had a vegetable garden and always canned what they couldn't eat to use in the coming years.

Beverly graduated from Viola High School in 1951. From there she went to work as a bank teller in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The church she was attending had a going away party for Dale Methum who was going into the service. The next Spring Dale was home on furlough when they met again at a church function. They started writing back and forth and when Dale got out of the Army, they were married August 7, 1954.

From there they moved to Madison, Wisconsin where Dale finished up his bachelor's degree. The first of their five children were born here in 1956. Beverly and Dale moved around the Midwest during their married life, having a total of 5 children.

They moved to Ames, Iowa in 1973 and continued to raise their children. Beverly worked as a bank teller in Nevada, and in Boone until her retirement in 1998.

Beverly loved to travel visiting children and grandchildren, and her home was a revolving door with children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren visiting her throughout the years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Peder (Cheri) Methum, Karl (Michele) Methum, Beth (Terry) Schmidt, Barbara (Mark) Kuhn, Thor (Deanne) Methum; siblings, Sharon Aicher and Ted Boggs along with 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Methum; parents, Theodore and Eunice Boggs; siblings, Theron Boggs, Shirley Baily and Larry Boggs.

To the world she was a mother, to her family she was the world. She will be deeply missed.

Your mom was such a lovely lady. I was Activities Director at Heartland Senior Services from 2013 to 2018. She used to come to several activities and was a pleasure to see her.
