Cameron Kennedy, 39, of Madrid, Iowa, passed away on October 12, 2024.
A gathering of family and friends to honor his life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa. Interment will take place at a later date at Kelley Community Cemetery in Kelley, Iowa.
Born on March 28, 1985, in Ames, Iowa, Cameron was the beloved son of Alan Kennedy and Darra Ziebell. He graduated from Ballard High School in Huxley, Iowa, and went on to attend Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).
Cameron's heart was most at home in the great outdoors. He found joy in fishing, bow hunting, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and boating with friends. Whether casting a line or carving through fresh snow, Cameron embraced life with passion and a contagious smile that could brighten any room.
He shared a special bond with Alicia, the love of his life. Together, they made countless memories, often out on the water, fishing and watching the sun set on the horizon. Their love was a source of strength and joy for both of them.
Cameron deeply cherished the people in his life -- his family, his close-knit group of friends, and his beloved pets. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone, fortunate enough to know him.
Cameron is survived by his father, Alan (Christine) Kennedy; his mother, Darra Ziebell; his sister, Tiara Kennedy; and his paternal grandmother, Alberta "Toots" Kennedy. He is also remembered by his godfather, Rich Holmes, as well as many loving aunts, an uncle, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marvin T. Kennedy; his maternal grandparents, Darrell Evans and Vera "Billie" Evans; and Alicia, the love of his life.
Cameron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the memories shared by those whose lives he touched.

Thinking of you and your family. I remember going to Gays house behind your moms (I think that’s correct?, I was so little then) and Cam playing w Trent n I. He was so silly and smiley. Thought a memory, no matter how small, would be appreciated or needed right now. So much love and prayers being sent your way Hun.❤️✝️
