Melody Mel Clouser age 66 of Ames, Iowa died on April 1, 2025, at University of Iowa Clinics and Hospital, in Iowa City. A gathering of friends and family will be Noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5th at Gilbert High School Cafeteria, 312 Gretten Street. in Gilbert, Iowa. Time of remembrance will be at 2:00 p.m. following the gathering.
Melody Ann Clouser, the daughter of Delbert and Janice (Bauge) Trickle. She married Rod Clouser on March 8, 1985, in Story County, Iowa. She and Rod had 40 fun filled years. They had 4 wonderful children, Angie, Shane, Dustin, and Chris.
Mel worked at the Gilbert School District, in the lunchroom for over 30 years and loved every child that came through the lunch line. She remembers everyone and every time she saw a Gilbert student they would say "Hi Mel" she would visit with all of them. She went to Mel Mart a lot and loved to shop and decorate her home. Mel knew everyone and she loved to visit with them, her mother said there was never a time that it was one errand.
Mel is survived by her husband, Rod Clouser, her children, Angie Clouser, Shane (Tina) Clouser, Dustin (Chelsea) Clouser, Chris (Kira) Clouser. Grandchildren, Bridgett (Nick) Bruening, Gavin, Halle, Avery, Matthew, Morgan, Micah, Malakia, Clouser and great grandchild, Vera Bea Bruening. Her parents Delbert and Janice Trickle, sister, Robin Trickle, and a brother, Darwin (Jolene) Trickle. Nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Gilbert School District, 103 Mathews Drive, Gilbert, Iowa 50105, for the unpaid lunch program, Mel had a soft spot in her heart for this program.

Mel was an absolute delight. She was a long time customer at JCPenney and she loved to hear stories about my dog and even came to visit me when I transferred stores to Des Moines. I will miss her stories and wonderful attitude. She was also a joy. She will be missed. Rest easy Mel.

Mel always made the lunch line a fun place to be, I always looked forward to seeing Mel every lunch. Condolences to the family.
