Linda Louise Patterson, 76, of Ames, Iowa passed away on April 14, 2025, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Linda was born on June 18, 1948, in Gary, Indiana to Harry and Mary (Ferkull) Maxwell. In 1973, Linda moved to Ames, Iowa and held a variety of jobs, but the one job she loved the most was taking care of her children: Warren, Betty, Mary, Tony, and Rick. When she wasn't taking care of the kids, she enjoyed planting and tending to her garden, watching as her veggies and flowers grew. Linda could be summed up in a few words like stubborn, tough, and would put people in their place, but she also loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always showering them with care. In her free time, she enjoyed watching The Sound of Music, and mystery shows. Linda made a lasting impression on everyone she met and will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

Left to carry on Linda's legacy is her husband, Richard, children: Warren (Myra), Betty (Anna), Tony (Lori), and Rick, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her sister Wilma Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary, daughters, Cheryl and Mary.
