Geraldine "Gerri" Olson (nee Nelson) passed away Friday, April 10, 2009, at Riverside Manor in Ames. A memorial service will be at a later date.
Geraldine Nelson Olson was born June 1, 1920, in Glidden, the daughter of Violet and Edward Nelson. She married Paul Hiner in May 1938. He died in January 1968. She later married Stanley Olson, who also preceded her in death.
She enjoyed collecting dolls and was active in her church, Assembly of God Church, until her health declined.
She will be deeply missed by three sons, David Hiner, Robert Hiner and Stephen Hiner; one daughter, Sharon Brodie; one sister, Grace Streit; two cousins, Norma Wright and Phyllis Pevestorf; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, condolences and memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice, 2 W. Main St., Marshalltown, IA, 50158.
