Stan Adams age 46 a lifelong Ames resident died Friday, Aug 1 at Ten Mile Lake in MN, of a heart attack. A gathering of friends and family will be 3-8 pm Thursday, Aug 7 with the family present 5-8pm at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way. A funeral service will be 10:30 Am Friday, Aug 8, at United Church of Christ-Congregational with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating.
Stan was born May 18, 1962 in Tacoma, WA, the son of Bruce and Nancy (Getz) Adams. He graduated from Ames High School in 1980, and graduated from Iowa State University with a BA in Marketing in 1987. He married Loretta Lutjen on June 23, 1984, in Ames, Iowa. Stan was employed at CMA IDEACOM as a salesman. Stan and his family enjoyed vacationing at Ten Mile lake in MN, where he enjoyed water skiing and other water sports. Stan loved Lindsey and Dylan, and enjoyed ISU Athletics, the Green Bay Packers, the Boston Red Sox. Stan's love of all types of music inspired him to listen and often to conversation.
Stan is survived by his wife Loretta Adams, daughter, Lindsey Jo Adams and son, Dylan Marshall Adams all of Ames, his mother Nancy Adams of Ames, Brother Jay (Linda) Adams of Huxley, Sisters Marna (Gary) Lenz of Bloomington, MN, Sarah Adams (Kevin Koshmeder) of St. Croix Falls WI, and brothers Denny Marshall of Lincoln, NE, Frank Marshall of Yelm, WA, and a sister Eva (Kevin) Grauer of Lincoln, NE, aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Stan was preceded in death by his Grandparents, dad Bruce Adams, In-Laws Delbert and Izetta Lutjen, nephew, Zachary Lilland and Brother Vince Marshall.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to: Stan Adams Memorial at Greater Iowa Credit Union for higher education for his two children.
Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
