Mark Thomas Jensen, age 61, of Ames departed his family and friends March 4, 2012 at his home. Mark was born in Carroll, Iowa, Dec. 12, 1950 to Marvin and Jean Jensen and grew up in Audubon, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University with his BA in Microbiology and Masters in Immunology. For over 30 years he worked at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames, IA. He spent his life helping others and will be missed by all.
Mark is survived by his wife, Lynnette; three children, Meleah, Nick and Chelsea; granddaughter, Grace; his mother, Jean Jensen; two sisters, Terri Dobratz, Patti Kohnen; and brother, Mitchell Jensen. He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Jensen; and brother-in-law, Greg Baldwin
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church of Ames. A reception will follow after the service.
God's comfort to you, Lynnette and kids. I will miss Mark's kindness and friendship but I will remmeber that about him also along with his great inner and outer joy.
