She was born on August 16, 1948, to Fred and Agatha Varnum. She was the second born of the seven "Varnum Girls" and was raised on a farm in Colo, IA. She graduated from Colo H.S. and Ellsworth Junior College. In 1968, she married her high school sweetheart, Terry Krausman. In June, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with two children, Kristine and Brian. Aggie worked for 25 years at the Iowa Cattleman's Association. She was well known and loved by cattle producers in all 99 Iowa counties. When she met a new person from Iowa, her first question would be, do you know so and so? Aggie never knew a stranger and was kind to everyone. She always had a big, dimpled smile on her face, a sparkle in her eye and a quick laugh. Her world revolved around her children, grandchildren and all her family. They were her greatest joy. She enjoyed baking, spending time on South Padre Island in the winter and shopping for "treasures" at thrift stores. She developed a love for crafting mittens from recycled wool and cashmere, which she turned into a small side business. Her strong values, humility, and living her life by the Golden Rule, set a wonderful example for her children and grandchildren. Aggie was a very faithful person and was welcomed into Heaven by her son, Brian, her parents, in-laws, nephew Mark Wessman and many other family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Terry, their daughter, Kristine (Dirk) Snyder, grandchildren; Logan and Josie Krausman and Noah Smuck, her beloved 6 sisters; Kay (Steve) Wessman, Bev (Bob) Lidd, Gini (Bernie) McWilliams, Dorothy (Steve) Ives, Annette (Tom) Kalkhoff and Darlene (Keith) Ricke, her large extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held Friday, August 11 at 9:30 am at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Ames, IA with a funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
