Bob and Marilyn,

Wilson and I had a lot in common. Born in the NW part of the state and schooled with the three R's and advanced education. WWII in the air corps weather section. Professing in the education field. In retirement a lot of serious and enjoyable golf. Wilson was a real gentleman.

Wilson was one of a few significant persons in my life. In the spring of 1966 my math professor at Central College told me he had made an appointment with a guy from the DMPS. It was Wilson and he hired me and assigned me to Irving JH with his federally funded Math Lab project. I abandoned the district curriculum and used all the tools Wilson's project gave me. It was very successful. In the summer of 1968, he offered me a position at Hoover HS, ignoring the list of transfer applicants. In sum, I retired as a superintendent and owe my career to Wilson as I was not looking for a job in 1966 or a transfer in 1968. A true mentor for sure!
