Alice Buck, age 88, of Ames, Iowa passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames on July 28, 2018. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. Paul Luth Read Obituary
Mrs. Buck was always a very special visitor when we owned Temptations on Main. She and I shared many conversations. She was a lovely person and it was a good day whenever she came through the door. Our sympathy to her family. Janice & Tim Coble
Sad to hear about the loss of your mom and grandma. Alice and I lived in the same neighborhood in Ames. She was always ready to share a cup of tea and a story from the past. I loved being able to talk with her about Jesus. We usually ended our time together in prayer. I look forward to sharing eternity with her. So sorry to hear of Alice death. Jan & I were best friends. I always sent Alice a Christmas card every year. Jan & I had some really good times. Alice was always nice and she was always glad to hear from me. I will miss hearing from her. She was so proud of her family and always wanted to hear about my family. Now she's with Jan & Chub. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your mom, grandma, great-grandma was our West Marshall secretary when I was first hired at WM. She was always so helpful and sweet! I got to know her better through Joan Fisher. It was my pleasure to visit at WM retired school personnel luncheons, as well as taking Joan to see her at Mary Greeley hospital and extended care. To Alice Buck's entire family - I am very saddened to learn of the loss of Alice to your family, the community and to all who ever met her. My name is Marty Kelly from Ames. For a few years I shoveled her snow, cleaned the gutters and a few other odd jobs. She was one of the most loving, caring people I ever met. She made me cookies and always against my will gave me a tip. She had strength, conviction and a loving spirit. I am very proud to have known her.
