I knew Weldon from the many years he represented ISU in the legislature. He was a dedicated representative and a pleasure to work with. You have my condolances.
I was in Weldon Walsh's government class at Burlington Junior College in 1948. It was a great time. The best day of the semester was that after the 1948 general election. Weldon came to class with a great smile. Obviously, Truman's election was a good thing. Years later -- after 1976 -- I was pleased he was on the staff at Iowa State and we had an opportunity to renew our acquaintance. He was an excellent teacher and a good friend. My sympathies to his family.
Bob and I dearly loved Weldon and will miss his wisdom and direction. God bless Jean and family and our thoughts and prayers are with them.
