Colleen Gardner's Obituary
Colleen Gardner, 88, died December 6, 2021, at Northridge Village. A time of remembrance will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec 11th at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa, with a lunch immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial to one of Colleen's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Colleen was born in Albia, Iowa, on September 17, 1933, to Orrin and Florence (Brown) Callen. She was married to Jerry Gardner on August 17, 1951. Colleen was an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan. She and Jerry often attended athletic events and always kept up on the latest scores and news. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her daughter, Linda Diane Gardner. Her survivors include her children, Michael (Shelly) Gardner, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Brian Gardner, Ames, Iowa; her grandchildren Ryan (Laura) Gardner, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Evan (Megan) Gardner, Tea, South Dakota; Anthony Gardner, Des Moines, Iowa; and Domenic Gardner, Des Moines, Iowa; five great grandchildren and her brother Larry (Marvel) Callen, Jefferson, Iowa.
