Della Jane Wright's Obituary
Della Jane Wright, age 87 of Ames, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home with loved ones beside her on the farm in which she was born, on November 16, 2021. She was born to Clarence Riggs and Julia Opal (Long). She married Wallace Wright, Jr., on May 27, 1955, at the Napier Methodist Church. To that union two sons were born. Della was a member of the Napier Methodist Church and Women's Society, and P.E.O. she graduated from Napier School. She worked at the agronomy department at ISU, and for many years at the seed Lab in Napier, from where she retired. Della had a servant's heart. She volunteered at her church, the Madrid Home, and many other places. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, gardening, and putting puzzles together. She was a big John Wayne fan. Della is survived by her husband, Wallace of Ames, IA, sons, Kenneth Lee Wright (Gudula) of Boone, IA, William Robert Wright (Irene Howard) of Fairfield, CA, and one granddaughter, Cindy Jane Hickle (Brandon) of Boone, IA.
