Doretta Marie Shillinglaw's Obituary
Doretta Shillinglaw age 78, of Ames Iowa passed away on Sunday, November 26, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A visitation will be held 4-6:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care at 414 Lincoln Way, Ames. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 14238 500th Ave Ames, Iowa 50014, with Burial at St. Petri Cemetery rural Story City, Iowa. Doretta was born August 30, 1939 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Theodore and Eva (Jensen) Baldus. She graduated from Story City High School. She married Robert Shillinglaw on July 28, 1962 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, on Lincoln Way in Ames. She worked at Iowa State University in the 1980's. Upon retiring she enjoyed time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and shopping with her sister Jan. Doretta is survived by her husband, Bob Shillinglaw, daughters and their husbands, Rachael (Randy) Siebens, Rebecca (Douglas) Dostal, Teresa (Dan) Barmore, grandchildren, Megan St. Peter (Kyle Hunter), Hannah Siebens, Emma (Seth) Miller, Madeline Dostal, Samuel Dostal, Lydia Dostal, Amanda (Sean) Starr, Amber (Kevin) Darling, Andrew Barmore, and three great grandchildren, a sister, Jan Pulver and brother, Cliff Baldus. Doretta was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, Lori Shillinglaw, (infant daughter) and great grandson, Hendrick Darling.
