Evelyn Mickle's Obituary
Evelyn "Evie" Mickle passed away Saturday January 23, 2016. Evie was born July 23, 1925 in Boone, Iowa to Carl and Julia Olander, the youngest of three daughters. Evie married Robert Mickle June 30, 1948, they were married for 66 years and had two children. Evie wore many hats during her life....she worked as a bookkeeper for Boone County and the Ames schools, she worked at her brother in-law's flower shop, during and post Vietnam War era she was Executive Secretary for the American Red Cross, and later for the Ames Multiple Listing Service. She retired after working at Knapp Tedesco Insurance Agency. Evie and Bob were among the original founding members of the Evangelical Free Church in Ames and she remained active as long as she was able. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Peg (Terry) Warren of Ames, grandsons; Billy Warren of West Des Moines and Aaron Warren of Ames, daughter-in-law, Margot and granddaughters, Libby and Emily Mickle of Georgia. She was preceded in death by a son, Tom and her husband, Bob. Visitation will be held Sunday Jan 31, 2016 at 2:00 with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 at the Christ Community Church of Ames.
