I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I have very fond memories of him and his great sense of humor. Your family is in my prayers.
Bill was one of seven in the Class of 1948 from Milford Twp Consolidated School, rural Story County, of which he labeled 'Milford University' in 1983 when his only male classmate was one of two Milfordites to be named ISU Distinguished Professors. As his obit reads, Bill certainly has proven himself to be a very distinguished person. Bill not only represented Milford Twp well, but also Ames, Story Co and beyond. He may rest in Peace and Peace be with each of you who shared in his knowledge. Godspeed!

Playing at your house when we were kids seems "long ago and far away" but I still remember those times well. Bill was an extraordinary person in many respects and I won't ever forget him. I spent some memorable hours playing with Mark in the Allen house at family reunions and Christmas celebrations in the 60\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s. What a warm, generous place reflecting a fantastic man and leader. May God bless and uphold you in your time of sorrow.
