I thought about Mr Best today and looked him up. Sad to see he has passed. He is one of a few teachers in my life (K through a MS) that had left a positive impression on me.
Mr Best was my History teacher during the US bombings of Iraq in 1996 as well as Homeroom teacher my freshman year until his retirement. He was the first person I ever knew to challenge me to question what the government was doing to other people.
He was always fair and pleasant. Reading his Obituary of details that I never knew before, and I wish that he were around to get advice from in times like these.
Being that this message is a year after he has passed I hope it gets to his family.
