Larry was a dear friend with a gentle spirit. He had the unique gift of listening with his heart and responding with a caring spirit. I will miss our calls and visits as we would catch up with each others lives. He was firm in his convictions without being judgemental and his words of encouragement were aways appreciated. Larry was a colleague in ministry for over fifty years. We shared many meals and visits through the years. His commitment to serving in ministry (even in retirement) was appreciated by many. He and Rita were a team who influenced the lives of many other people in good and gracious ways. His friendship was a gift to me, and I will miss his presence.
Larry was my dad. I hated saying “foster dad” cuz he was so much more. He taught me to be honest, kind, accepting, and realistic. If ever I needed spiritual advice, he gave it. Even if it was something I didn’t want to hear. Dad, you’ve known me all my 51 years of living. And you never gave up on me. Thank you! You know this world isn’t going to be the same with you not on it. I love you dad.
