John Albert DeFore's Obituary
John DeFore, of Ames, passed away April 2, 2014, at Rolling Green Nursing Home in Nevada, Iowa. John was born at Mary Greeley Hospital on March 25, 1923, to Charles and Anna DeFore and lived most of his life in the Ames area. He retired from the Post Office in 1985 from a long career as a carrier. John is survived by one sister, Mary Offenstein of Hardy, Virginia as well as 7 nieces; Rayma DeFore, Ann Culver, Robin Robinson, Kim Bettis, Kay Anderson, Kathy Young, and Becky Reed, and 4 nephews; Dick Kelso, David Kelso, Mike Kelso, and Tim Offenstein. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 5, 2014 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care located at 414 Lincoln Way in Ames followed by a graveside service at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
