A visitation will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave, Ames, IA on Thursday January 13th from 4:00-6:00 PM. The funeral will be held Friday January 14th at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church. Joe Doyle was born in Spencer, IA on January 19, 1959, the son of Larry and Rita. Joe grew up in the Fort Dodge area with a large family and many siblings to get into trouble with. Joe married the love of his life, LouAnn Renae Kathman, on October 3rd, 1981 at St. Cecilia. Joe was many things to many people. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, colleague, teacher, and mentor. The one thing that every person who met him will agree upon is that he made their day brighter. From his siblings who have known him his whole life to the person he inevitably struck up a conversation with while waiting in line. They will all tell you the same thing. He was a conversationalist who left a positive impression with those who were privileged enough to have met him. There is not a person whose life he has impacted that does not have an "Uncle Joe," "Neighbor Joe," or Dad story that will bring a smile to their face even on the darkest of days. His legacy will always be that of a loving, charitable, kind, and good man. Joe is survived by his wife LouAnn Doyle, his children Trisha (Tom) Buchwald, Derek (Erin) Doyle, Kyle (Mercedes) Doyle, his five grandchildren Sage, Braden, Brinley, Clayton, and Rinoa who adored him, Mother Rita Ivory, sisters Ann Johston, Katie (Darwin) Gaster, Nancy (Dave) Weiss, Sue (Denny) Runyan, Mary (John) Orthman, brother John (Martha) Doyle and step siblings Cindy Ivory, Rob Ivory, Doug (Linda) Ivory, Tim (Brenda) Ivory and Denny Ivory.
