Lucille Ann Woolis-Andersen's Obituary
Lucille Ann Woolis-Andersen passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Funeral services will be held on May 5, 2022 at 10:30 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Ave, Ames, IA 50010. Lucille was born on January 29, 1941 to Robert and Louise (Canning) Woolis of Corydon, Iowa. In high school, she played in the Iowa All-State Band all four years. She was the Valedictorian of the 1959 Corydon High School graduating class. She continued her education earning a Bachelors Degrees in English and Agronomy from Iowa State University, a Master Degree in Developmental Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Doctorate Degree of Developmental Psychology from SUNY- Stony Brook. She taught psychology courses at Iowa State and Drake Universities. She married Arthur Andersen on December 23, 1962. Lucille was active in the P.E.O. Chapter KC in Ames. She was also on the Bethesda Lutheran Church Woman's Ministries Board, and active member of the Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance. She helped organize the Scandinavian Coffee. She is survived by her husband, Arthur, son Kurt, and daughter Ekaterine. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise.
