Nancy Carey's Obituary
Nancy Sue (May) Carey, 75, resident of Ames, Ia., went to Heaven on the wings of an angel on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. With her family at her side. Nancy Sue Carey was born on September 20, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of Kenneth and Mildred May. Nancy worked for J.E. Dunn Construction Co. in Kansas City Mo. Until the birth of her son, Kenny, in 1987. Nancy moved to Ames in 1996, in 1999 moved to Jewell, Iowa, so her son could have better Education. Then moved back to Ames in 2005. Nancy most recently worked for the Ames Tribune as an independent contractor. Nancy enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, listening to her favorite music, working on the computer, and visiting with her friends and neighbors. Nancy was a very strong woman; she has been through a lot in her life. Nancy was married to Robert D. Carey, on January 16, 1983. She was blessed with the birth of their son Kenneth on March 1, 1987. Nancy is survived by her son Kenneth (Erin) Carey, grandson Kolten of Ames, two stepsons Curtis Carey of Howard, Kansas and Robert D. Carey Jr. of Woodstock, Al. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2015 and her parents Kenneth and Mildred May. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery (3215 S Duff Ave, Ames, IA 50010) at 10:00 a.m. when she will be reunited with her beloved husband Robert.
