Paul Lee Rowland's Obituary
Paul Lee Rowland, 64, of Ames died Friday, August 5th, 2022, of polycystic kidney disease at his home surrounded by his loving family. A public visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Grandon Funeral & Cremation Care from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or to Mainstream Living. Paul was born December 15, 1957, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Patricia Hinkle and Donald Rowland. Following his primary education, Paul graduated from Northwest Iowa Tech and built a career as an electrical lineman. In 1986, Paul and Barbara Buchele were married in Ames, Iowa. Together, the two made their home here to raise their family. Paul never met a stranger-He enjoyed talking with and getting to know everyone he encountered. He was happiest when he was using his extensive list of skills to repair or build something for someone. Lately, Paul and Barb were enjoying cruising around central Iowa in his newly acquired MG convertible. Paul also was an accomplished musician. He loved drag racing and the blues! He and Austin loved to tinker with cars and he and Jesica loved to listen to the blues together! He was the most caring, selfless person you could ever hope to know. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Barb; his children, Austin and Jesica; his father, Don; siblings, Wayne (Joyce), Doug and Bryan (Dian), Therese and many more extended family members and dear friends!
