Mrs. Pauline James' Obituary
Mrs. Pauline James age 95, died May 25, 2010. A Home Going Celebration will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 29, at Friendship Baptist Church 2400 Mortensen Rd Ames, Iowa. Pauline was born October 13, 1914 in Clarksville, TN the daughter of Ben and Lula (Hunter) Smith. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, IN; in the 1930's. She married David James in Farrell, PA where she was a retired licensed practical nurse and former co owner of David James Hotel in Farrell, PA. She was a Church Mother of Friendship Baptist Church in Ames, AARP and former Daughter Ruler Twin City Elks Farrell, PA. She was a retired ordained minister before coming to Iowa. Pauline has always been active throughout her life in civil rights and community betterment and she enjoyed participating in the Iowa Caucuses She is survived by daughter Dava Paulette James of Nevada, IA, son Louis and Lori James of Chicago, IL, and grandchildren, Imani and Amir.
