Ralph LeRoy Jones' Obituary
Ralph LeRoy Jones, 66, of Colo passed away on June 11, 2022, at the Israel Family Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. A Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 4-6:00 p.m. at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way Ames, Iowa 50010. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date once a fund has been established. Ralph was born on December 28, 1955, to Delbert and Joyce (Cox) Jones in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent his early years growing up in Ames. Ralph met the love of his life Jodi Matzen, the two were married on April 30, 1980, in Story City. Ralph loved spending time with his children and grandchildren along with going to his parents' home on every holiday. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and gravel traveling with family and friends. Ralph was a wonderful man who was friendly, funny and would help out anyone who needed a hand. He touched the lives of so many and he will be loved and missed by all! Left to cherish Ralph's memory is his wife of 42 years, Jodi, children: Crystal (Darin) Drake, Heather (James) Stevens, Heidi (Dave) Titus, and Ralph Jones II, his 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his siblings: Champ (Britt) Jones, Steve (Sue) Jones, Gary (Teri) Jones, Kathy Jones, and Donnie (Lori) Jones, his mother-in-law Bobette Matzen, and Jodi's siblings: Tim Matzen, Starlene (Mark) Hagely, Kelly (Gary) Freel, and Connie (Eric) Davis, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Joyce Jones, father-in-law Gerald Matzen, and brother-in-law Curt Matzen.
