Rodger L. Lovig's Obituary
Rodger Lovig age 70, of Ames died Friday, morning at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa. A gathering of friends and family memorial service will be 1:30 pm Saturday, July 20, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City. Rodger was born October 13, 1942 in Zearing, the son of Theodore (Ted) and Ruth (Stout) Lovig. He attended school in Story City and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He married Denise Johanns on November 16, 1991 in Story City Iowa. Rodger and Denise worked with Ames Landscape and Nursery for many years. He was a true gardener, hole digger, and enjoyed watching the plantings mature. Rodger is survived by his wife Denise, children, Kim (Chris) Holst, Alex (Bobbi) Balfanz, and Kimberly (Joe) Chelsvig, nine grandchildren, brothers, Richard (Jeanette) Lovig, Ron (Ann) Lovig, sisters, Sonja DeBerg and Sandi (Paul) Risdal and his father-in-law, Joe Johanns.
