Rosemary Taylor's Obituary
Rosemary went to be with her Lord peacefully on December 12, 2014. She suffered the agonies of Alzheimer's for 12 years with grace and courage. Rosemary was born March 9, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Max J. and Lola Lamb. Rosemary was one of eight children; two died in infancy. Rosemary graduated from North High School in Des Moines. Her first job was at O'Day Finance in Des Moines. Rosemary met Arthur J. Taylor on a blind date arranged by friends. Art and Rosemary were married on August 29, 1947, at Highland Park Christian Church. Art, Rosemary, and their son Paul, moved to Ames, Iowa in 1955. Rosemary worked at a number of jobs in Ames, but her main vocations were helping run the family business, Taylor Office Equipment, and her years as the secretary at First Christian Church in Ames. Her heart was in her service to the Lord and her love of First Christian Church and her church family there. Rosemary was a member of First Christian Church for 59 years. Rosemary will be remembered for her love of gardening and her sense of humor. She loved nothing more than being together with her family for dinners. She was an avid fisherwoman and loved fly-in trips to fish in Canada. She was also a 50 plus year member of the National T.T.T. Society, which provided camping for girls and more. Rosemary was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2003 and entered long-term care in August of that year. She resided at Sunny View Care Center, to be close to her son and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Art, her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by one son Paul (Julie) Taylor of Ankeny, granddaughter Becky Moore of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, grandson Jeff Moore of Houston, Texas and many beloved nieces and nephews. As per her wish, she was cremated. Her ashes will be placed in a columbarium with Art's at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
