Sarah "Sue" Ness' Obituary
Sarah" Sue" Ness age 70, of Ames Iowa died July 25, 2014 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way with a 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 30, celebration of life funeral service at Evangelical Free Church in Ames. Burial will be at Story Memory Gardens. Sue was born September 10, 1943 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Shirley (Nagle) Wilson. She grew up surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins in a family home on Beech Street. She married Robert (Bob) E. Ness of Clemons, Iowa in 1959, and together she and Bob shared a life of love and adventure, twice moving to California, but making their permanent home in Iowa, living in both Nevada and Ames. Bob preceded her in death in 1993. She worked for General Forms in Nevada, Iowa State University, General Filter in Ames, and finally retired as an Aide for the Ames School District, serving special needs kids at the high school. Sue was an active member of her bible study group at Evangelical Free Church in Ames and was a member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing at the Oaks Golf Course, decorating her home, spending time with good friends and family. Sue is survived by her daughter and son in law, Shelly and Craig Amundson their daughters, Sarah and Katie, and a son and daughter in law, Kurt and Missy Ness and their children, Stella and Troy.
