Thelma Mildred Luther's Obituary
Thelma M. Luther age 100, of Ames died Sept, 15, 2011 at her home surrounded by her friends. A private graveside service is being planned at Fairview Cemetery in rural Madrid. Thelma was born Aug. 21, 1911 in Luther, Iowa the daughter of Ira and Grace (Knight) Luther. She graduated from Luther and went to Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines, then junior college before graduating from University of Minnesota in Nursing Education; she received her Master in Public Health Administration from Michigan in Ann Arbor in1949. Thelma was Public Health Nurse at Student Health at Iowa State University before she retired in 1976. Thelma is survived by her friend Pilar A. Garcia of Ames, several nieces and nephews.
