Victoria Van Voorhis
I worked with Verna in the Institution Management Department at Iowa State University from 1980 until her retirement. And it used to intrigue me how devoted to golf she and Wayne were! (I am not a lover of being out in the heat). And the stories she would tell of her daughters, her joy when her grandson Benjamin was born, reading cookbooks as a source of enterainment (as opposed to just looking up a new recipe). I treasure a small lead crystal trinket box Verna gave me for Christmas one year. She was an interesting co-worker, a gentle and fair supervisor, and a lovely woman.
