Wallace Wright, Jr.'s Obituary
Wallace Wright, Jr., age 90 of Ames, Iowa passed away peacefully with loved ones present, on June 2, 2023, at Eastern Star Masonic Home, in Boone, Iowa. Wally was born on September 11, 1932, to Wallace and Elizabeth Wright (Young) in Ames, Iowa. After graduating from Ames High School, he served in the United States Army. Later he started working at Iowa State University as one of the original officers for the College Police Force. He also drove a school bus for the United Community. On May 27, 1955, he married Della Jane Riggs, and they were married 66 years before her passing. They made their home on Della's family farm, where he was farming until retirement. To that union two sons were born. He is survived by his sons Kenneth Lee (Gudula) of Boone, Iowa, William (Will) Robert (Irene Howard) of Fairfield, California, and one granddaughter, Cindy Hickle (Brandon) of Boone, Iowa, one sister Kathy Garland of Blacksburg, Virginia, one niece Karen Carlton, and two nephews, John Wolfe, and Andrew Wolfe. A private graveside burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Luther, Iowa.
