Waunita and Gary entertained single people in Ames, IA Great Christians

I just learned of Waunita's passing. She was a dedicated follower of the Lord and had such a wonderful sense of humor. We sang many, many choruses together at Westhaven. Her love for Don and the rest of her family and friends was so evident to all of us. 'When we meet, when we meet, when we meet at Savior's feet....'
Don, there was never a doubt who your mom loved with all of her being. If you spoke to her for more than five minutes I would guarantee you she would have mentioned Jesus and not long after you and your family. I remember her smile and uplifting nature. Blessings from the Comforter and we will see her again!
Don, such a dear dear dear Mama you had!!!! Waunita and I go back so many years!! We met in Jefferson and were best friends when she lived in Ames and then to Boone. We could spend hours visiting at one another's house then go home and end up talking another couple hours on the phone! She would always say that God brought us together for a season and then moved us on for while and then brought us back in to each other's lives and so forth and that is how it was. She was so positive about everything, had such a giving heart and spirit. One was always uplifted after spending time with Waunita because she always pointed them to Jesus to get their load lifted!! You know your Mama was a Prayer Warrior and she knew how to touch the throne of God with her prayers. She made an impression on so many lives, especially mine!! I learned so much from her in our years of friendship! She Loved you deeply!! You were a Gift from God and she was so thankful to have the role of being your Mom! You know where she is today-In God's Presence!! And she has probably picked out a new God's Chariot (remember that is what she called her car?) and choir robe and already seated at a piano!!!And helping to prepare and set up a feast table!!! She is now closer to the throne to do her praising of her Savior and interceding for those near to her heart!!!! May you feel God's Hugs in the days ahead!!!
My sympathies are extended to the family. I worked with Wuanita at the Iowa DOT. Enjoyed her company a great deal. I know where she is now and she is beyond happy being in Gods Kingdom.
Juanita's family,
I worked with your mom at the DOT at the Ames Maintenance Resident on Hwy. 30 East.
She was always so pleasant, such a calm voice, beautiful, and that gorgeous smile. Beautiful photo you show here; that's the way I remember her.
My heartfelt sympathies to each of you on the loss of your beloved mom, grandma, etc.
May God comfort you now and in the days, months, and years ahead.
My deepest sympathy to Don and Sharon!! Sad news but no doubt in my mind that she is singing and praising with Jesus!!! Thanks for sharing Waunita during her stay at Westhaven! We had a great Christian ofriendship and grew together in our daily spiritual journey! Yes I miss her but know she is PAIN FREE walking streets of gold with the angels!! Sending prayers and God bless
