A Tribute to Our Friend and Colleague, Bill Howell
We lost more than just a colleague with Bill’s passing; we lost huge part of our Sage Park Middle School family.
To those of us who were new to the profession, Bill was more than a mentor—he was a steady anchor. His advice wasn't just about lesson plans or classroom management; it was about making you feel seen, valued, and immediately part of the "teacher family" he cherished so much. He had a way of turning a workplace into a home.
Bill’s character truly shone during the hardest times. When a fellow teacher was struggling while his wife battled cancer, Bill didn't just offer sympathy; he took action. He rallied many of us together, ensuring our colleague was surrounded by a community of comfort and support. That was Bill—always looking out for the person next to him.
Of course, we will never forget the lighter times. Bill’s legendary Christmas vacations to Key West with his teacher friends were the highlight of his winters. Whether we were there with him or just hearing the stories afterward, his love for life and adventure was infectious.
Bill, we love you, and the halls of Sage Park were never the same without you. We will miss you dearly, but we will remember your laughter, sharp wit, and true friendship.
