Ellen Moore's Obituary
Ellen Moore, of Ames, IA, passed away peacefully at the Israel Family Hospice House on October 09, 2025 at the age of 75. Born on October 28, 1949 in Jacksonville, IL, she was the beloved daughter of Reverend Anderson Blue and Dorothea Blue. Ellen loved to be with family and friends, the more the merrier. She enjoyed traveling, baking traditional and new recipes, a variety of crafts, and continuously sharing her homemade goods and gifts with all. Ellen's kindness, integrity, courage, and the love she shared had a positive impact on all who knew her. Ellen loved and found great joy in Bible study and being an ordained minister. She treasured the fellowship and friendships that came from it. Her unwavering faith brought her comfort, hope, and strength during her life. Her strong faith will remain a lasting legacy and comfort to all of her family and friends. Ellen is survived by her life partner: James (Jim) Alexander, three children: John (Jamie) Moore, Michael Moore, and Susan Moore (Jess Smith), four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a sister: Lily Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents: Reverend Anderson Blue and Dorothea (Shaw) Blue, four siblings: Billie Blue, Loita Finchum, Linda DeLay, and Charles Blue. Memorial services for Ellen Moore will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, In Ames. Visitation will be held prior to services at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 pm. Following the memorial service, a Celebration of Ellen's Life will be held at The Parlor, 119 Washington in Ames.
