My heart is sad for your loss. We used to hang with your mom and dad when you guys were little and had many good times. Then Karen and I reconnected at Nutcracker. I know she was proud of all of you ! Loved her kindness , sense of humor and her lovely smile. My thoughts and prayers to all of you.
Karen was a co-worker and friend for over 35 years. She was a model for living a full life, every day. Her love and joy in her children and grandchildren was boundless. Karen enjoyed sharing tender stories about each of them. Her devotion to her faith, family, and friends was fierce. Karen's spirit was warm, engaging, and always welcoming. I will miss her company and her friendship. Rest in peace, Karen.
Karen was my sister Laurie Greer's friend first, but through all of our Ladies of the Lake weeks at Lake Okoboji I got to know her too. Jenny and Emily, she simply outstanding, and I am grateful to have known her. Her kindness and consideration made her a favorite of our group, and I always liked being around her. I still remember a kindness that Karen showed me as far back as 1977 when I was new to Iowa. She will always be remembered for her kindness and her smile.

I think Karen was an angel loaned to us for a short time. I will keep my memories of bridge, book club and friendship in my heart. She was just a lovely person and individual. She will be missed.

Jenny and Emily and families, I am so very sad about the loss of your mom and grandmother. I was privileged to work with Karen for many years as an SLP, and she was always supportive, calm, caring, and wise when working with the SLP staff. She was the best listener and always made everyone she talked with feel special. She lit up a room, whether it was at book club, coffee, an SLP meeting, or over a glass of wine. I loved her laugh, and so many other things about her. She will be greatly missed by so many, which means, of course, that she was so very loved. My heart goes out to all of you.
