Kerry is kind, considerate, thoughtful, fun, interesting, humble, confidant, amiable, easy-going, warmhearted, and steady. I remember when you're talking with him, he had this thoughtful expression on his face, as if he has something more to say. He was a truly good person and he will always have a special place in my heart. My condolences to your family.

Before taking on the monumental job of moving their large extended family farm home from just west of Ames to north of Boone, I rented the pasture on Kerry and Cherie's acreage for several years. We live just a half mile from the Ames acreage so became good neighbors and especially enjoyed watching "the girls" grow up during this period. The obituary mentioned that Kerry's philosophy of getting a job done right by doing it yourself certainly explains why Kerry could fix or build anything. I have fond memories or the years as neighbors and certainly want to express my sympathy to you Cherie, Stacey, and Katie.
I worked w Kerry my entire time in Ames PO, we started within 6 months of each other and he made all new employees feel comfortable and ready to answer questions. Once he switched to vehicle maintenance he was still always there to answer our questions about our trucks or personal vehicles. I certainly know I appreciated his knowledge that he shared with a sense of humor, I think he liked to tease me in his own way about my lack of knowledge about trucks/cars, but he never made me feel foolish. Kind and patient and funny are just 3 adjectives, I’m so sorry for your family’s loss and I will hold you all in thoughts and prayers... he was my coworker and my friend...

My deepest sympathy to Kerry's family. I've known him most of my life and his smile is something I won't ever forget. Quiet, kind, funny, and genuine. One of the good ones.
The obituary does a marvelous job of describing the Kerry I knew, he worked at the post office with my husband and did work on several of our cars. So sorry for your loss.
