Paul White
Funeral Associate
Paul has lived his entire life in Ames. Paul spent nearly 47 years as a research technician working with the corn breeding group in the Agronomy Dept. at ISU. His wife, Cheryl, worked 43 years at the Iowa Department of Transportation, the last several years as administrative assistant to the director.
Paul and Cheryl have two sons, Matthew and Benjamin, both currently living in Ames. Paul and Cheryl are active members of St. Andrew’s Lutheran church where Paul is a charter member.
Mary Mahoney
Funeral Associate
Mary K. Mahoney is a lifelong resident of Iowa. She grew up in Manly, earned degrees at UNI and ISU, and has lived in Gilbert since 1988.She and her husband Steve are parents to son Ed (living in Colorado) and are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Student Center in Ames.
Mary has been a Registered Dietitian for over 40 years, and her career included employment in school food service, long-term care, hospice, University instruction, and most recently, as Senior Corporate Dietitian at PurFoods/Mom’s Meals in Ankeny, Iowa. Retirement has provided time to travel and read nonfiction, as well as opportunities for culinary exploration at home and in restaurants near and far. She is pleased to now be associated with Grandon and their reputation for caring and compassionate service.
Roger Willroth
Funeral Associate
Roger has lived in Ames since 1990; he met his wife Cathy in High School and they have been happily married since 1977. Cathy and Roger have one daughter Megan. Roger has been a Pastor and an Investment Adviser. He is a Certified Funeral Celebrant and also a Pre-Need Funeral Planner. Roger joined Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care as a Part-Time Associate in 2018. Roger is a member of Cornerstone Church and a Volunteer for Wings of Refuge in Ames. Roger enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends and golf.
Fred Lewis
Funeral Associate
Fred Lewis has lived in Ames since 2002. He is father to one son, and he has one granddaughter. Fred is a retired United Methodist minister having served local Iowa churches over the past forty years in Ankeny, Janesville, Clear Lake and finally at the Ames First UMC. He assisted and supported the start of the Food at First non-profit organization in Ames to help address and meet the hunger needs and poverty here and in the surrounding communities. Fred was appointed to serve ten years on the Ames Commission on the Arts. Fred is often described as being compassionate, creative, caring, generous, and a loyal friend. In his spare time, he enjoys supporting the performing and visual arts, traveling, and cooking. Fred was raised in Griswold, Iowa, and graduated from high school there before going on to earn a B.A. from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, and both a Master of Divinity degree and a M.A. from The Methodist Theological School in Ohio, at Delaware, Ohio.
Tim Grandon

Tim is a licensed Funeral Director and has been employed in the funeral industry for over 30 years. Tim enjoys his profession as it allows him to meet new people every week and use his innate communications abilities. Tim is involved in The Rotary Club of Ames, where he sits on the orientation board, Arcadia Lodge, Moose Lodge, and is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ames. Tim has always followed the Rotary 4 way test and motto, “Service Above Self.” Tim enjoys time with his family and his grandchildren. You may find him on a local golf course or out walking enjoying the great community we live in.
Kim Grandon
Founder, Retired
Kim is the wife of Tim Grandon. Although she is employed full time, as a Secretary for the Facilities Engineering Unit at the National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, she has supported Tim for many years while he has served numerous families during his funeral career. Kim is also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Kim enjoys spending time with her family, friends and playing with their grandchildren. She enjoys just being outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh air, and golfing from time to time.
Bill Yungclas
Funeral Associate, Retired
Bill is a native of Webster City, but has been in Ames since completing three years of active duty in the U.S. Army and marrying Barbara in 1962. They lived at 707 Beach for 41 years before moving to Northcrest Retirement Community in 2009. He especially likes being involved in the United Church of Christ, Masonic organizations, and volunteering at Mary Greeley Medical Center. He has worked with Tim since the opening of Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in 2007.
Annette Sebranek
Funeral Associate, Retired
Annette Sebranek is a wife, mother and grandmother who has lived in the Ames area for over 40 years. She spent over 30 years providing home daycare for newborn to 4 year olds while raising her two daughters. She now provides grandmotherly attention to 6 grandsons and 1 grand-daughter. She began her career in the bereaved care industry with Stevens Memorial Chapel where she worked from 1997-2001, and in 2011 she joined Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care where she continues to provide support and care for those involved with the services offered. She is described by those for whom she has served as “thoughtful, caring and warm.” Annette has had much experience in compassion and caring with her work in childcare and is always ready to assist families with the extra care and touches that make the experience at Grandon’s one of kindness and compassion.
