Kenneth L. Davis 87 of Ames, died Monday March 25 at the VA Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter following the service.
Kenneth was born April 22, 1925 in Ames , Iowa the son of Lee Roy and Gertrude Davis. He graduated from Ames High School. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Marines Corp. He married Laurene Myers Taylor on October 4, 1968 in Ames, Iowa. Kenny worked at Iowa State University in the Maintenance Department retiring in 1988. Kenny was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames, Ames American Legion Post #37, and Moose Lodge #520. He enjoyed golfing and time with his family.
Kenny is survived by his wife Laurene of Ames, children, Garry Davis of Elk City, OK, Rodney Davis of La Vista, Ne, Linda (Jerry) LaRang of Newton, Randy (Linda) Taylor of Winona, MN, and Keith (Cheryl) Taylor of Urbandale; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Roy Davis and a sister Catherine Ellis.
