Norman D. Kruse age 81, of Ames died Friday Apr. 5, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A celebration of life memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday Apr. 11, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way Ames.
Norman Dean Kruse was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Luana, Iowa the son of Le Roy and Eda (Gentz) Kruse. He graduated from Luana High School in 1949, Norman married Georgia Smith Jan. 10, 1951 in Luana, Iowa. He served in the Korean Conflict in the US Army. The family moved to Huxley in 1968 and to Ames in 1977. Norman was Assistant Manager for the Physical Plant at Iowa State University for over 26 years he then worked at the information booth for another 12 years. Norman was an avid Iowa State Fan enjoying all the sports but especially Football and Women's Basketball. He also could be found gardening in his retirement.
Norman is survived by his wife Georgia Kruse of Ames, son and daughter-in-law Kim and Linda Kruse all of Ames. Grandchildren, Nikki Rittgers of Story City and Brandon Rittgers of Ames and great grandson Cory Rittgers, brothers Marvin Kruse of Florida and Jim Kruse of Postville, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Connie Jo Kruse and siblings, Eileen Mohs, Leo Kruse and Gene Kruse.
