Brandon - Chase was such a happy guy, a great soccer players,(athlete in general) and I feel priviledged to have been even a small part of his life. He will be missed but remembered with kind and happy thoughts.

Even though it had been years since we had seen Chase, Tyler always knew he loved her and whenever we'd talk about him, she would smile from ear to ear, remembering his fun-loving personality. Our prayers go out to the rest of the family.
Brandon and Melissa, wish we were there.

CandleNick,
You have been on my mind continuously since last Thursday in Rapid City. While I did not know your son chase, he sounds like a tremendous young man. You must feel as though your heart has been shattered into a thousand pieces. I hope that many wonderful memories and the thoughts and prayers of many who care give you some comfort in this time of sorrow. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

CandleI didn't get the opportunity to meet Chase in person, but all I know is I have never met a Father who loves his sons so deeply as does Nick Winkey. The numerous stories he told me and the light in his eyes as he spoke of his son, Chase, makes me feel as if I did know him, somehow. I can only hope those memories will help all of you, who shared in them, find comfort and know they will keep him with you always.

Shelli and family,
At a time when words are hard to find. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have not seen Chase in many years. I remember our energetic little boys playing soccer and basketball, riding bikes and the elementary days at Meeker. Chase always had that cute smile and was such a good friend to Adam. May your hearts be comforted by the assurance of God's faithful love and care.

CandleI graduated from Ames High in 1999, so I was a little older than both Chase and Brandon. It saddens me so much to hear of your loss, and I pray comfort for you and your family through this time. I had a son in 2003 and as I considered all the boy names that I read there was one that stuck out. I remembered going to school with this kid named Chase Winkey, and he just seemed like such a good kid. Even as a freshman when I knew him, his personality and charm were quite something. So I decided that is the name my son would have. He is now 10 years old, and his name is Chase Benjamin Thomas. He wouldn't have that name without your son's influence. I thought you might enjoy knowing that. Blessings on you all.

CandleWe'll always remember Chase as a young man full of fun and with a contagious smile. We respected his competitiveness, marveled at his abilities, enjoyed his humor, and LOVED his kindness (especially toward little sisters of teammates). This world will miss Chase Winkey. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. With love and caring
