Colleen Ann White (Clark) of Boone Iowa formerly of Bangor Wi peacefully passed away on January 26th 2014 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 13th 1950 to Anthony and Pauline Clark in Winona Minnesota. She lived in Winona, Parker South Dakota, Norfolk Nebraska, St Paul Minnesota, eventually moving to Boone Iowa in 1967.
On July 14th 1969 she married the love of her life Russell Lee White in Tomah Wisconsin. From there they purchased an old farm house which they turned into a beautiful home to raise their 4 children, Todd, Shannon, Shawn and Kelly.

Colleen was employed at Ridgeview Inn for 10 years while her children were young. In 1981 she started her employment at the La Crosse tribune where she was employed until 2005.
Colleen's passion in life was spending time with her husband and her beautiful grandchildren. She also enjoyed vacations and making her home a showcase.

After her husband passed away in 2011 she moved back to Boone Iowa. She enjoyed part time employment at her daughters business the Howl a Day Inn, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children Todd (Argelis) of Tampa Florida, Shannon (David) Brudos of Viroqua Wi, Shawn (Kurt) Kastenschmidt of Boone Iowa, Kelly(Jake) Aalseth of Blair Wi. Her grandchildren Christopher, Andrea, Alyssa, Maya, Macy, Eva,Jada and Jenna.3 sisters, 2 brothers, and many brother in law and sister in-laws.

She is preceded in death by her husband Russell, her parents a brother in law and sister in law.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Lonnie Gaumer and Pat Novachek who assisted her in transportation to and from doctor appointments. Without them this journey would have been impossible.

God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be,
He closed his arms around you and whispered "Come with me"
In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away
Our hearts were almost broken; you fought so hard to stay
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer so again.
So keep your arms around her lord, and give her special care.
Make up for all the suffering and all that seemed unfair.

Colleen's wishes were to not have a funeral service. The Grandon Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Ames Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. A private ceremony will be held at a later date at the Burns Cemetery.

CandleOur thoughts and prayers are with Todd, Shannon, Shawn, Kelly and their families.
I also send my condolences to Collen's siblings on the loss of their sister.
Aunt Cook...I am happy you are no longer in pain, that you no longer have the worries of this world. May you rest in peace.
